Kathmandu: The BP Literary Festival, commemorating the 110th birth anniversary of Nepal's first people-elected Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) founding leader, has commenced in Kathmandu. Organized by the Nepali Congress, the event is taking place at the NC central office in Sanepa, Lalitpur, in collaboration with the Nepali Writers' Association and the Nepal Cultural Federation, among others.
The festival's program includes a poetry symposium, ghazal recitations, musical performances, art exhibitions, documentary screenings, and a photo exhibition. The opening session featured a documentary screening titled "Hijacking for Democracy."
Min Bahadur Bishwakarma, Head of Information, Communications, and Publicity Department of the Nepali Congress, announced a range of activities during the festival, including poetry and ghazal recitals, painting exhibitions, a documentary exhibition, historical photo exhibition, and a talk by litterateur Abhi Subedi on BP's literary contributions and life philosophy.
The festival will also host a poetry symposium with the participation of 20 poets. The Nepali Congress has invited academicians, scholars, and all those interested to participate in this inaugural literary festival.
